Can you dance? If like most guys you suck at dancing, then you need to start using some dance floor pick up lines that work a treat.
This is an interesting one, and one I get asked a lot: ‘what do I say to girls on the dance floor? How can I talk to them when they can’t even hear me?’ Lots of guys also don’t like to dance because they don’t have moves like Ne-Yo or Akon and they are worried they’ll get shown up.
If you think like one of the guys above, then you need to change your mentality. What girls are attracted to on the dance floor is not necessarily sexy sweet urban moves. Often girls don’t like a man who can dance really well, because it shows he’s vain and way too much into himself.
What girls find attractive on a dance floor is a guy having fun and enjoying himself. Most guys only go to a dance floor so they can hit on, or check out, hot women. Why do women go to the dance floor? Because they actually like to dance. So if you’re having a good time, letting loose and rocking out some crazy, non-serious moves, then you’ll stand out over all the other guys standing there awkwardly clutching their beer.
Force them to notice you
So what I’d recommend if you want dance floor pick up lines is firstly to get yourself on the dance floor and have a good time. Then, after a couple of minutes, I’d start forcing IOIs. What do I mean by that?
An IOI is an Indicator Of Interest, as in the girl responding positively to something you do. Forcing an IOI is where you do something that means the girl has to respond to you, and you can gauge from her response how she feels about you. Let’s say you’re on the dance floor and you wave an a girl, or playfully bump into her, or make your hand into a gun and shoot her, or wink.
Anything you can think of that is clear she has to respond to it. If she responds positively, go over and dance. You can introduce yourself if you want, but you don’t need to. After a little bit, you can lead her from the dance floor and suggest you get a drink and she’ll probably comply.
If you rejects your forced IOI, then that means she’s not going to be open to your advance and you should leave it alone. I mean, you can go over, but the negative signal suggests you’ll unlikely to succeed.
Boogie like a pro
Have fun on the dance floor and use forced IOIs to gauge interest. If you want an actual pick line, which I don’t think you need, girls actually respond really well to you asking them ‘shall we dance?’.
They like guys who are confident enough to ask straight up. Actually, I remember a psychological study where guys just did ask the girl for a dance and something crazily high like 40% got accepted.
The experiment was testing the affect of touch on persuasive, so when they re-ran the test the guys asked the girl to dance and touched her lightly on her upper-arm, and suddenly something like 60% said ‘yes’. If you want to use a pick-up line, then just that combo is pretty effective.
Oh, I also like dance next to a girl, turning her and saying ‘So are you just going to dance next to me, or where you going to say hi?’
