Are you ready for some serious Italian pick up lines?
Italy is a tremendously romantic country. If you’ve never been to see the architecture forged by one of the greatest civilizations in history, or olive-skinned women – you are absolutely missing out.
It’s one of the best places to go in the world. And Italian women, known for their hospitality and homicidal tempers, are some of the most attractive. So what do you when you come across someone who speaks Italian, and you want to do that thing where you pick them up by speaking lines? Use this quick guide.
1. Ciao, bella.
Hello, beautiful. Are there any other words you need when meeting someone that you don’t know for the first time? Especially when they’re beautiful? I think not. You’re going to need to keep the conversation going afterwards though, and if you don’t know Italian you may need hand gestures to help you out. They’re the universal way of communicating, and have been since the Italians invented them so long ago.
2. Scusa…non ci siamo già visti prima?
Excuse me, have we met before? The classic mainstay where you infer a previous relationship so instead of trying to shoo you away from their group, the girls are instead trying to figure out where they know you from. Then afterwards, more hand gestures or hope that they speak English. If you can, just take them skipping down the street for some kind of European adventure. Unless you’re in Little Italy. Then just avoid the tourists.
3. Ti va da andare a prendere un caffè?
Would you like to go out for a cup of coffee? Hey, you’re a tourist in a strange place – inviting some locals out for fun isn’t a bad idea. It may make your trip noteworthy, and interesting.
A better idea would be, instead of using these pick-up lines to try to communicate that you know a bit of Italian – try to talk to the girls in English. I’m sure they won’t neglect you if you make an earnest effort of it and are subcommunicating good things – but throwing in some foreign tongues couldn’t hurt to try.
